This House: The Story Of – Another Great Review
Latest Review of my Ebook!

A good read, especially for the price. having worked in kitchens, I can say the Author has really captured the essence of kitchens in service, plus the oversized egos of some of the chefs working in them. Very vivid descriptions of life in a kitchen and some great examples. Would love to know who the chefs she refers to are. Worth every penny, but very cheap in any case!

Short Story eBook ‘The Apprentice Chef’ gives a glimpse into life as an apprentice working in a famous London Michelin star restaurant……
“…The thing about working in a kitchen is that you have to be an adrenalin junkie and a sucker for punishment. There is just no other reason for working in one. If you want to be a chef because you like to cook, then do so at home because working in a professional kitchen you will soon grow out of it. Working in a professional kitchen is comparable to working on the stock market floor or as an air traffic controller, the stress is unbelievable. It is little wonder that most Chefs who choose to stay at the battle front of the kitchen itself and not go into management either have severe personality disorders or abuse copious amounts of illegal substances. You can only do it well and stay sane for a relatively short period of time….”
A must read for any chef, those interested in cuisine, or interested in the world of professional cooking.

A fabulously gritty true account, January 21, 2012
This review is from: The Apprentice Chef – Inside a London Kitchen (Kindle Edition)
As short stories go this is a doozy. If you ever dreamed of becoming a chef with the romantic notion of playing with all that lovely food, this account of an apprentice chef’s time in a top London restaurant will have you scurrying for safety. The writing is natural and so visual you are there in the kitchen with her! A gritty no-hold’s barred telling of what it’s like to work excessive hours while trying to exist in one of the world’s biggest cities.
I loved it.
